Η Μονάδα Καινοτομίας και Επιχειρηματικότητας θέλει δημόσια να συγχαρεί τις δυο ομάδες φοιτητών του Διεθνούς Πανεπιστημίου Ελλάδος, για τη συμμετοχή τους στη τελική φάση του φοιτητικού διαγωνισμού Ψηφιακής Καινοτομίας και Νέας Επιχειρηματικότητας στο Ηλεκτρονικό Επιχειρείν, Ennovation 2015.

Συζήτηση Στρογγυλής Τράπεζας: Η επόμενη μέρα της Μονάδας Καινοτομίας και Επιχειρηματικότητας (Μο.Κ.Ε.)  published at 01-October-2015

Στα πλαίσια των εκδηλώσεων των «Ημέρες Καριέρας (Innovation Days)» του Διεθνούς Πανεπιστημίου της Ελλάδας, έλαβε χώρα η ετήσια συνάντηση των ΜΟ.Κ.Ε. Β. Ελλάδος που φέτος διοργανώθηκε στη βιβλιοθήκη του Μουσείου Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης.

Το κύριο θέμα συζήτησης ήταν η επόμενη ημέρα των ΜΟ.Κ.Ε. και η οργανική τους ενσωμάτωση στα οργανογράμματα των ακαδημαϊκών ιδρυμάτων. Παράλληλα, έγινε αποτίμηση του ρόλου των ΜΟ.Κ.Ε. και ανάλυση των προβλημάτων που εντοπίστηκαν κατά τη λειτουργία τους.

Η εκδήλωση είχε τη μορφή στρογγυλής τράπεζας και ήταν ανοικτή για το κοινό, και συμμετείχαν οι Μονάδες Καινοτομίας και Επιχειρηματικότητας των:

Διεθνές Πανεπιστήμιο της Ελλάδος (ΔΙ.ΠΑ.Ε.)- Φ. Μαυροματίδης, Κ. Μουτσιάνας
Αλεξάνδρειο Τεχνολογικό Εκπαιδευτικό Ίδρυμα Θεσσαλονίκης (ΑΤΕΙ)- Α. Μπελίδης
Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης (Α.Π.Θ.)- Γ. Μυλωνά
Δημοκρίτειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θράκης (Δ.Π.Θ.)- Π. Γκιούρκα

Ο κάθε εκπρόσωπος έκανε απολογισμό της λειτουργίας της ΜΟ.Κ.Ε. και της ΔΑΣΤΑ και αναφέρθηκε σε προτάσεις για την επόμενη ημέρα. Το κύριο συμπέρασμα ήταν ότι η παρούσα μορφή των ΜΟΚΕ και των ΔΑΣΤΑ παρουσίαζε σημαντικά προβλήματα και η καλύτερη λύση είναι η οργανική ενσωμάτωση τους στο οργανόγραμμα των ακαδημαϊκών ιδρυμάτων.

Στα πλαίσια των εκδηλώσεων των ‘Ημέρες Καριέρας (Innovation Days) του Διεθνούς Πανεπιστημίου της Ελλάδας, έλαβε χώρα η εκδήλωση του ΔΙ.ΠΑ.Ε. : Παρουσίαση συμβουλευτικών εργασιών: Προτάσεις των φοιτητών σε επιχειρήσεις, φορείς και οργανισμούς.

Η Μονάδα Καινοτομίας και Επιχειρηματικότητας, πιστή στην αποστολή της που είναι η ενίσχυση του επιχειρηματικού πνεύματος των φοιτητών και η ενθάρρυνση της καινοτόμου επιχειρηματικότητας, συμμετείχε στην εκδήλωση που διοργανώθηκε στο ΔΙ.ΠΑ.Ε, καλύπτοντας μέρος του κόστους της εκδήλωσης.

Η ΜΟ.Κ.Ε. θα ήθελε να ευχαριστήσει τους διοργανωτές για τον άριστο σχεδιασμό της

The teams are e-care walk (a smart device that can prevent strokes), led by Mr Kakamoukasand Social Taste (an innovating platform for ordering food through internet and social media)  led by Mr Batzakas.

Purple Games is a creative and ambitious boardgame publishing company founded in 2013 in Thessaloniki, Greece by the IHU student Maria-Olga Raimondo and Evi Tsirogianidou. Its purpose is to offer to the players worldwide unique gaming experiences through the publishing of original boardgames, which are characterized by interesting gameplay mechanics and high levels of components quality.

The two owners of Purple Games have been playing boardgames since they were children.The one always used the blue pawn, while the other always played with the red one. The years passed and their dream about creating a boardgame company came to reality. All they had to do was to choose the name of their company. That could not be something different other than the combination of their favorite colors…purple !

A new institution of entrepreneurship and economic development on behalf of the Municipality of Athens was inaugurated on Thursday 08/05/2014. This is the Entrepreneurship Support Centre, which is a think and information tank on all entrepreneurship actions conducted  in Athens.

INNOVATHENS, the Innovation hub, officially opened its gates    published at 09-May-2014

The Technopolis City of Athens developed the innovation hub «InnovAthens», in collaboration with the Innovation and outward companies Union, enumerate in whole 317 innovative companies.

The «InnovAthens» will serve as a entrepreneurship and innovation support point at the heart of Athens, in an area with 600.000 visitors per year and with special symbolisms in relation to industrial development and culture.

Entrepreneurship Beyond Silicon Valley: The Greek Story  published at 11-Apr-2014

For the first time, a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on the Coursera platform will be enhanced with content designed for a Greek audience. The course is free of charge and open to everyone, and will include a series of interesting interviews and discussions with entrepreneurs from different parts of the world, funders, and business experts. From April 28 through June 9, participants will get simple, practical advice and information on how to start a business and identify funding sources in a tough economic environment.

As Greek participants, you will be invited to join meet-ups in four different cities in Greece - an opportunity to discuss the topics of the course, ask questions about material you don't understand, share ideas and find out how to make your business (or business plan!) stronger.

2nd Mentoring session of Easis team that reached the final at the Ennovation 2013 student competition  published at 04-Feb-2014

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the International Hellenic University, on the initiative of Prof. Ioannis Vlahavas, organised on Tuesday, 28 January 2014, the second meeting with one of the groups in North Greece who excelled in the Ennovation 2013 competition, the purpose being to support them with mentoring in their next steps.

The Easis team, which reached the final, comprised the following team members:

Alexander Arvanitides (MSc in Computer Science at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki)
Maria Panourgia (MSc in Computer Science at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki)
Anna Serafi (MSc in Computer Science at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki)
Antonis Voulgaridis (MSc in Computer Science at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki)

Easis proposed a web application for keeping medical records online whereby users will also be able to arrange an appointment with any doctor registered on the application. The doctor has online access to the patient file.

In this meeting, technical issues (regarding implementation) and issues of personal data security were discussed. A timetable was determined for the implementation of a prototype. Discussion also covered business planning issues, such as the promotion of the product and methods for approaching potential stakeholder groups.

Participating in the meeting, and providing valuable assistance and knowledge, were Professor I. Vlahavas (Dean of the School of Science & Technology, International Hellenic University), G. Gatos (Co-Founder - Business Development incrediblue.com), Dr. N. Bassiliades (Academic Coordinator of the School of Science & Technology, IHU), Dr. Christos Tjortjis (Assistant Professor of the School of Science & Technology, IHU)  Dr.  C. Berberidis and Dr .G. 1st Mentoring session of 2 teams that qualified at the Ennovation 2013 student competition  published at 09-Dec-2013

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the International Hellenic University, on the initiative of Prof. Ioannis Vlachavas, organised on Friday, 6 December 2013, the first meeting with two of the groups in North Greece who excelled in the Ennovation 2013 competition, the purpose being to support them with mentoring in their next steps.

  • The Pickme team, which won 3rd place, comprised of the following members:

Domniki Kouitzoglou (Dept. of Development and Economics, LSE)
Konstantinos Imprialos (Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki)
Stylianos Moschoglou (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki)

Their idea was a multi-platform and mobile application for personalized daily purchasing choices of users. The user enters his medical profile, scans products utilizing the QR codes technology and receives information about whether and how much of the selected products they should consume.

IHU student wins fifth place at the Ennovation 2013 student competition  published at 02-Dec-2013

This year's awards were given to the following groups:

1st Prize:  TruckBird
2nd Prize: Organery
3rd Prize:  PICK-ME
4th Prize:  Clio-Muse
5th Prize:  Custom Bikes
6th Prize:  Priority PMS

The International Hellenic University ICT student, Nick Bakirtzis, received 5th prize for his business idea Custom Bikes and was offered free space in the Embassy of the Netherlands to start his entrepreneurial activity (the orange grove).

The award ceremony ended with the announcement of the launch of the 7th Ennovation 2014 Student Competition by the two Scientific Coordinators of the competition, Prof. G. Doukidis and Asst. Prof K. Pramatari from the Athens University of Economics and Business, in cooperation with Prof. Ioannis Vlahavas, Dean of the School of Science and Technology at the International Hellenic University.

''Innovation Days 2013'' - Innovation and Entrepreneurship Units: Challenges and plans for the future published at 24-Sep-2013

The International Hellenic University organised an event in the context of “Innovation Days 2013” under the title “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Units: Challenges and plans for the future”. The subject of discussion was the achievements of university Innovation and Entrepreneurship Units.

The event, which took place in the Library of the Film Museum of Thessaloniki, reviewed activities up to now and the difficulties they face and looked at what the future has in store at the end of the EU - funded project in 2015.

Four months after Openfund II’s launch and three investments later (with another three pending announcement), they launch today their new call for proposals.

Entrepreneurs are welcome to submit their ideas by filling out the form by May 31. All submissions, regardless of getting selected or not, shall receive the extended reviews and feedback by June 15.

They are looking for entrepreneurial teams based in Greece, with innovative ideas for software products that target big, international markets. Indicatively, Openfund offers €50k for 10% of equity participation, on top of their continued commitment to provide support on all things an entrepreneur might wish for.

i-kiosk, the winning team of the Ennovation 2011 student competition, received funding of 300.000 Euros from the Pj Catalyst Fund.

i-kiosk offers an integrated digital guide to the shop owner, helping them to make all the necessary arrangements fast and easy: trading, inventory supervision and overview, automatic ordering, customer management, suppliers management, etc.

This year, for the first year, the International Hellenic University is introducing IHU Week. Taking place from 1st to 5th April 2013, IHU Week aims to increase the University’s engagement and interactive communication with society.

IHU Week will take place on the University premises in Thermi, Thessaloniki. During the five days, key issues will brought into focus, such as the economy, Law, the environment, energy and Art. Distinguished speakers will present their views on the future of Greece, on Thessaloniki as a centre of education, research and advancement of the history of the Black Sea region and on innovation in the European Union. Events will look at issues of environmental planning and sustainable urban development, energy, air pollution in the urban fabric with key references to the role of engineers in the current energy reality. The programme will also include a discussion on issues relating to Art, Law and Business, with reference to issues of arbitration and mediation. All the events in IHU Week are related to the subjects of the postgraduate programmes offered by the International Hellenic University.

Eurobank and Corallia proudly announce "egg - enter•grow•go", a joint Corporate Social Responsibility initiative that aims to boost young innovative entrepreneurship and improve employment opportunities for young people in Greece.

The "egg - enter•grow•go" is a holistic entrepreneurship acceleration programme, reaching out to young teams with creative and innovative ideas. Through the programme, participating teams will have access to a reliable network of mentors and partners with experience in start-up acceleration; a focused, hands-on educational programme on business development; and value-added, one-stop-shop services to support business operation and growth. Each cycle of the programme lasts 12 months.

The programme invites young men and women 18-35 years old who have an innovative business idea and the passion to turn it into a successful business, to apply for their participation in the program until March 26, 2013.

The groups, that will be selected through a merit-based competitive process, will have at their disposal a comprehensive framework of entrepreneurial incubation, acceleration and co-working for a whole year.

Innovation Centre launched by Procter & Gamble in Maroussi, Athens  published at 24-Jan-2013

The 2013 Summer Institute on Social Entrepreneurship is a five-week academic Institute for young people ages 18-22.  The Institute will be held in the United States in the summer of 2013.  The program is supported and fully funded by the Department of State - Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Ennovation 2012: Startup Essentials and Award Ceremony  published at 16-Nov-2012

The Athens University of Economics & Business and Eurobank are organising, on Thursday November 29th 2012, the "Startup Essentials" event to inform and educate young entrepreneurs in starting and operating a new business. Experts specialised in the development of small businesses, human resources management & team building and digital companies marketing will be speaking at the event.

The event is organised within the framework of the 5th Digital Innovation and New Entrepreneurship in eBusiness Student Contest. This year 300 students participated in 110 teams from 32 universities/institutes. 15 teams reached the final and on November 29th awards will be given to the winning teams. During the Second part of the event a special workshop mentoring for the 15 teams will take place with the help of experts specialised in new entrepreneurship and digital innovation.

2 Greek teams finalists in an International Innovation Competition  published at 19-Oct-2012

At the Social Innovation Tournament organised for the first time by the European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute, 16 proposals stood out, 2 of which are derived from Greek groups. 

  1. Imagine The City and IDEA / TOPOS: «Politeia 2.0-Democrasy re-born».
  2. Leontios Hadjileontiadis - AUTH: «Symbiosis».

The final will take place on 29/11 in Luxembourg and the 1st prize is 15.000 euros.

Ericsson Application Awards 2013   published at 10-Oct-2012

Ericsson Application Awards is an annual, global competition for application developers on the Android platform and it is ongoing until 28/02/2013.

The competition is open to both students and small & medium sized enterprises (< 100 employees). There are two categories: one for students and one for companies.

The theme is "Apps for City Life".

Prizes include cash prizes worth a total of € 40.000.
