Digital Innovation, Young Entrepreneurship and New Funding Opportunities

The National Library of Greece and the Athens University of Economics & Business (e-Business Research Center - ELTRUN), "listening" the need for development proposals that will generate business opportunities for young people, are organizing an event on March 1, 2013 entitled: "Digital Innovation, Youth Entrepreneurship and New Funding Opportunities".

The purpose of this special event, which is organized under the the 6th International Student Competition ennovation www.ennovation.gr, is to inform undergraduate and postgraduate students, young men and women for:

  • Innovative opportunities from the new promotion and transactions digital channels
  • Critical success factors in setting up and managing a new entrepreneurial activity
  • Participation in the student competition ennovation 2013 and support (mentoring) provided to the distinguished teams
  • New funding opportunities presented to support young entrepreneurship

EDUCATION AND INNOVATION IN THE 21ST CENTURY: Opening Frontiers for the Business Market

As part of their global education strategy, The Economist events, Microsoft and the British Council are jointly organizing an international conference entitled “Education and innovation in the 21st century: Opening frontiers for the business market”.

As the global marketplace becomes increasingly demanding, the role of education is fundamental when it comes to business success. Subsequently, in times of turmoil the initiative of the three organisations undoubtedly is very timely.

The conference’s sessions shall mainly focus on skills development and strategy in education, the role of new technologies, entrepreneurship as well on best practices from Greece and abroad. At the same time, our speakers are invited to share their knowledge and experience with the audience, which will primarily consist of high-level representatives from Ministries from Greece and abroad, academics, experts from the lifelong learning field, business, NGOs, public and private institutions, local and foreign media.

"Exposing the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki " - Innovation, Education and Culture Festival

The Research Committee and the Employment and Career Structure of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki are organising an event, which will include an Innovation and Technology Bazaar, as well as information on innovative educational programs.

The event will be held in the Science Center and Technology Museum - NOESIS from 18 to 20 January 2013.

Acknowledging the importance of acquaintance and contact of the productive bodies with the world of research and innovation, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki considered it appropriate, in addition to the free attendance to all interested parties in the exhibition, to organise special guided tours to the exhibition for operators and enterprises on Saturday, January 19th, hours 11.00 - 12.00 am and 6.00 - 7.00 pm.

Panhellenic Entrepreneurship Symposium 2013: Entrepreneurship...from theory to practice

The Innovation's and Entrepreneur's Unit of the A.T.E.I.-Thessaloniki organises the Panhellenic Entrepreneurship Symposium that will take place on 14th and 15th of January and in addition to all, will constitute the occasion of launching an ''acceleration program'' in collaboration with the Innovation Farm. During this process, all the business ideas of students and alumni who will appear will be presented in one minute. Thereafter and until May 2013, the process of ''maturing'' of entrepreneurial ideas will be completed, in order for them to be ready to present to potential investors at the end, whilst there is an effort to enhance the best ideas.

Students who are unable to attend the symposium and wish to participate with their business idea, they can do so by sending their one minute ''video''.
